What is Tutors Hub?

Tutors Hub is an online system that provides an innovative learning platform for tutors and academic institutions to list their tutoring services across the country.

The Tutors Hub system users are both the students who require tutoring and/or mentorship assistance, and by the various individuals such as undergraduates, teachers, professors, PhD candidates and industry professionals or academic Institutions who offer tutoring and/or mentorship services.

How does Tutors Hub work?

All system users (students and tutors/academic institutions) create an account by signing up on the system to be able to use Tutors Hub. Users then complete their profiles by providing information such as location, availability, tutoring modes (online or physical) etc. In the cases where a user chooses physical as a tutoring mode, the user further indicates if s/he is willing to travel and if yes, the user also indicates how far s/he is willing to travel to offer/receive a service.

How are the lessons offered?

All lessons are offered either physically (Face-to-face) or online using third party applications such as Zoom, Skype Microsoft Teams, Facebook Live, WhatsApp Video calling and so on, or via the system’s virtual classroom platform that records all lessons throughout.

How do students pay for services?

Students buy the system’s pre-defined tokens that they (students) use to book for tutors’ services and other system features such as buying courses online. Once a booking is confirmed by a tutor, the student’s account gets deducted with the respective tutor’s fee.

Can I get a refunded if Id don’t use up all my tokens?

Yes, any un-used tokens get refunded, simply put in a refund request – no questions asked.

How do I find a suitable tutor on Tutors Hub?

Students search for tutors using the advanced relationship-based matching system based on academic needs, location, personality and interests. The match guarantees that you are satisfied with your tutor. Review shared feedback from other system users to help you decide better. The tutors' profiles have detailed information such as qualifications, experience and much more for easier decision making during your selection too. Or, enter your requirements into the system and have tutors contact you.

How are Tutors Hub lessons carried out?

The system has two modes – Physically (agreed safe location) or online (Using third party applications such as Zoom or skype or via the system’s virtual classroom platform. All classes conducted through the system’s virtual classrooms are recorded.

How do tutors get paid?

The system only transfers funds into the tutor’s account when a student gives a positive confirmation about a lesson. The tutors then request for a payout. Funds gets disbursed into the tutor’s preferred bank account or other methods such as E-wallet etc.

How much commission does Tutors Hub charge the tutors?

The system charges 15% commission on all successful transactions.

Can booked lessons be rescheduled?

Yes – the system offers a complete flexibility to both students and tutors to reschedule lessons. Tutors however have an option to set the due date as to when a student can cancel his / her lesson, to which a student will charged fully if s/he fails to show up for tutoring lessons. Note that lessons booked via the system’s online virtual classrooms starts automatically as per pre-booked details.

What if I am not satisfied with my session, can I get refunded?

Yes – we do offer full refunds as per the system’s terms and conditions. Open a dispute on the system and have the system administrators investigate for an amicable solution. Remember, the student’s funds remain safe with the system until a dispute is resolved.

Can I delete my Tutors Hub account?

Yes – any user can delete their account whenever they want without prior notice. We will refund all balances associated with the account at the time of deactivation (after charging processing fees) within 21 days after receipt of the notice.
